About Us

Robert Rainford studied music at Durham University before embarking on a career as a freelance musician and music teacher in the North West of England. Playing and teaching wind instruments, as well as piano and double bass, has given him an invaluable insight into the technical issues of the different wind instruments.

A member of the National Flute Orchestra, Preston Flute Group and Casual Sax Quartet, Robert is an active musician, and his arrangements have been played country wide by a variety of different ensembles.

Working and performing together since University, Robert and Lynne have now formed Forton Music to share their catalogue of arrangements and compositions with other musicians.
