Description
The Nocturne for oboe and piano is based on a gentle, rather wistful theme, with some subtle rhythmic variations that make the piece more suitable for a fairly advanced player. There is a middle section in a slightly faster tempo, but it does not interrupt the general peaceful, indeed nocturnal, mood of the piece, in spite of reaching a fortissimo climax just before the return of the first theme.
